Genuine Question

What exactly are "monkey chants"? Assuming they are chants imitating monkeys, how are they racist? Are we expected to believe that the Baroda crowd knew that Symonds is of mixed ethnicity? Everyone says Indian crowd is quite well versed in cricket, but that is stretching it a bit too far. What probably happened was that the crowd was having some fun with him. But I fail to see the racist angle.

Actually even Symonds didn't complain about racism...its just the media who blew it up!

its jus a media gimmick.... thats it...if u say 1+1=2, media says 1+1=1000..... but anyways whenever aus audience starts boo-ing at bhaji when he is on the field, he gives a very good answer to the aus crowd either by taking a wicket(if the team is fielding) or by hitting a six or a four(if batting).... Harsha Bhogle, while commentating, was suggesting the indian crowd to dress up like an aussie n start boo-ing at bhaji.... Nice Idea uh :)
